🎨 AFLS Attends 16 Days in WA – MercyCare Art Exhibition | 10 December

On 10 December, the AFLS team had the privilege of attending the 16 Days in WA Art Exhibition at MercyCare Mirrabooka, celebrating creativity, connection, and community.

We would like to sincerely thank MercyCare for hosting such a powerful and inclusive event that supports the safety and empowerment of women and children. The exhibition showcased beautiful individual artworks and a collective piece inspired by “Play Your Part”, created by the CALD women’s Create and Chat Art Group.

The Create and Chat group provides a welcoming and empowering space for migrant, refugee, and asylum seeker women to connect, express themselves, and find strength through art. Hearing the stories behind the artworks — and what Play Your Part means to participants — was deeply moving.

It was wonderful to see the community come together through art, conversation, food, information stalls, and shared reflection.

Thank you again to MercyCare and the talented women who shared their creativity and voices with us. AFLS is proud to stand alongside organisations creating safe, empowering spaces for women and families.
